How to Get an Idaho Real Estate Salesperson License

How to get into Real Estate

  1. Must be 18 years of age or older
  2. Provide a copy of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  3. Take and pass a 90 hours pre-license class to include Module 1 and Module 2.
  4. Have your fingerprints taken through Pearson Vue. These can take approximately 2 weeks to process, however, you may get this done before you start real estate school.
  5. Pass the Idaho Real Estate State Exam with a 70% or better.
  6. A fully completed real estate license application to be sent to the state.
  7. Obtain a business Errors and Omissions insurance policy and supply proof to the state. (Only while on active status)

Costs Associated with Becoming a Licensed Salesperson

  • $60 for fingerprints and $80 for exam both to Pearson Vue.
  • $160 license fee every 2 years to the Commission.
  • Approximately $208 per year for E&O insurance while actively licensed.

  REALTOR Association dues (If applicable):

  • National Association of REALTORS - $155 for 2018 and $185 for 2019
  • Idaho Association of REALTORS - $180 per year
  • Local Association of REALTORS - varies by area
